Overview
- The man reportedly left his Camden Court apartment to buy food and was assaulted in the Lower John Street/Knapp's Square/Devonshire Street area around 7:30–7:50pm before collapsing back at home, where a local GP pronounced him dead.
- His body was removed to Cork University Hospital for examination by State Pathologist Dr Sally Anne Collis.
- Gardaí have appointed a Senior Investigating Officer and opened an incident room at Watercourse Road Garda Station.
