Portland Father Arrested in Death of 15-Day-Old Son After Grand Jury Indictment

U.S. Marshals took Felipe Arroyo Jr. into custody following a months-long homicide investigation.

  • A medical examiner determined that 15-day-old Arlo Darnielle-Arroyo died in May from homicide caused by blunt force trauma.
  • The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 38-year-old Felipe Arroyo Jr. on Dec. 8, and he was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center.
  • A Multnomah County grand jury in November indicted Arroyo on three counts of second-degree murder, first-degree assault, two counts of first-degree criminal mistreatment, two counts of attempted coercion, and witness tampering.
  • Arlo was hospitalized with suspicious, life-threatening injuries on May 4 and died in a Portland hospital on May 8.
