Overview
- Porsche formally revealed the 911 GT4 R on Thursday, June 25, 2026, announcing U.S. pricing at $375,000 and deliveries expected to begin in the third quarter of 2026.
- The car is the first Porsche GT4 developed on a 911 platform and is derived from the 992.2 911 GT3 Cup architecture with a six-speed sequential gearbox.
- It uses a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six rated up to 520 hp in road/race tune but equipped with intake restrictors and weight/ballast changes so Balance of Performance will reduce its race output to GT4 levels.
- To meet SRO GT4 technical rules the GT4 R has one-inch narrower wheels with five-bolt hubs, a less extreme 11-position rear wing, added ballast options and other regulation-driven adaptations.
- Porsche built over 1,500 Cayman-based GT4 cars since 2016 and says the 911 GT4 R will plug into its one-make and open-series ladder, appear publicly at the 24 Hours of Spa and target a competitive debut in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge at Daytona in January 2027.
