Overview
- Porsche publicly introduced the 911 GT4 R on June 25, 2026, and is now taking orders at a base price of €265,000 with deliveries scheduled before the 2027 GT4 season.
- The GT4 R is based on the 911 GT3/Cup architecture and uses a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine that can produce up to 520 PS unrestrained but is fitted with factory restrictors that nominally reduce output to about 430 PS for GT4 rules.
- Porsche adapted the Cup platform for GT4 by switching to five-bolt wheel fitments, fitting a sequential six-speed gearbox with paddle shifters, and specifying a GT4-tuned chassis, adjustable dampers, 380 mm steel brake discs and a Bosch Gen‑5 racing ABS system.
- The car adopts major Cup body structures and increased use of natural-fiber composite parts for doors, engine cover, aero elements and some cockpit components to cut weight and lower the environmental footprint of race parts.
- Porsche positions the 911 GT4 R as the upper-level successor to its Cayman-based GT4s, extending a customer-racing ladder that began in 2016 with more than 1,500 Cayman GT4s sold and creating a new focus for balance-of-performance decisions in series such as ADAC GT4 Germany and the GT4 European Series.
