Pony.ai Marks 300th Alpha T5 Robotaxi as It Ramps Toward a 1,000-Vehicle Fleet by December

A 70% cut to autonomous hardware costs is central to the company’s push to scale commercial robotaxi service.

Overview

  • The BAIC-built ARCFOX Alpha T5 entered mass production in July 2025 and has now reached 300 units, according to the company.
  • The seventh-generation robotaxi integrates Pony.ai’s autonomous stack for full-scenario, all-weather operation and uses automotive-grade components to lower the bill of materials by 70%.
  • Vehicles have permits for on-road testing in Beijing and Shenzhen and are undergoing fully driverless trials ahead of wider deployment later this year.
  • Together with the ramp of seventh-generation models from GAC, the company maintains a goal of a combined 1,000-vehicle fleet by year-end.
  • Pony.ai plans commercial ride-hailing in China’s tier-one cities and says it is exploring opportunities in the Middle East and Europe.
