Overview
- The Diputación de Pontevedra disclosed Monday the full Artes Vivas program, confirming Convento de Santa Clara as the venue from July 2 to 12 under curator Iñaki Martínez Antelo.
- The lineup features 22 proposals with four world premieres, 14 Galicia debuts, and three works-in-progress across dance, performance, music, theater, and circus.
- Archaeological test digs begin in May and shows will run in the church, choir, and gardens that are not under excavation.
- The program opens July 2 with Blanca Tolsá’s Microdesfase followed by Clo Plas, and concludes July 12 with a dance piece by Venice Golden Lion winner Alessandro Sciarroni.
- Most events are free with a reservation system to be posted soon, and the 32nd Biennial’s “Nas Marxes” theme brings creators from Galicia, Spain, and Brazil, Argentina, Italy, and Portugal.
