Polygon Adds TRON Support to Open Money Stack to Route USDT Between Banks and EVM Chains

By tapping TRON’s deep USDT liquidity through a single API, Polygon says it will simplify remittance and payout flows while preserving existing licensing and compliance duties.

Overview

  • Polygon announced Wednesday that it has integrated the TRON network into its Open Money Stack, giving businesses one integration to on‑ramp fiat to TRC‑20 USDT, custody TRON wallets, and off‑ramp back to bank accounts.
  • The integration includes cross‑chain routing so firms can receive USDT on TRON and deliver funds to recipients on EVM chains or convert into USDC without requiring separate wallet providers or customer‑facing bridges.
  • Polygon said its fiat‑rail service leans on money‑transmitter licenses and compliance systems that cover 48 U.S. states and emphasized this change does not alter firms’ licensing or regulatory obligations.
  • The push connects businesses to TRON’s large USDT ecosystem, which holds more than $94 billion in circulating USDT and has seen enormous transfer volumes, offering low fees and fast settlement for remittances and payouts.
  • The move builds on Open Money Stack’s earlier 2026 roll‑out and Polygon’s acquisitions of Coinme and Sequence, positioning the platform as an orchestration layer that reduces vendor fragmentation for remittance firms, fintechs, and payment processors.
