Police Seek Tips After 81-Year-Old Found Shot Dead in Conroe Home

A multiagency investigation will collect evidence and pursue leads while officials ask residents to come forward with information.

Deputies entered a home on the 19200 block of Trails End Road and found 81-year-old James Blount suffering from a gunshot wound, and EMS pronounced him dead after arriving just after 8 a.m. Monday.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives and Crime Scene Investigators led the response and are working with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office and the Fire Marshal’s Office on the active probe.
No suspect description, motive, or arrests have been released so far and officials have not confirmed whether the victim lived alone.
