Overview
- A woman was sexually assaulted on an eastbound Elizabeth Line train after a group of buskers boarded at Whitechapel, with the attack occurring on 6 June and two men from the group leaving the train at Stratford.
- BTP has published CCTV images and descriptions of two men they want to speak to, one with short hair wearing a dark leather jacket and the other wearing a cap, dark rucksack, bomber jacket and a pink-and-white t-shirt.
- Detectives said they believe the men in the images may have information that will help the inquiry and urged anyone who recognises them or witnessed the incident to come forward.
- Anyone with information is asked to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 with reference 860 of 6 June, or to give information anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
- The case remains under active investigation with no public reports of arrests so far and the appeal highlights how BTP routinely uses CCTV releases and public tips to identify suspects and address passenger safety on rail services.
