Overview
- Nottinghamshire Police published CCTV that shows Jack Higgins yanking and kicking at locked doors in a Beeston student block as he misses a clearly marked exit button.
- Higgins returned to the same building after the initial break-in and tried to pull a wall-mounted TV free, but cameras had already recorded clear images of his face.
- Detectives reviewing other student block thefts linked him to three more burglaries at nearby sites, including two at the same address.
- A week before the featured footage, CCTV captured Higgins and 27-year-old Iona Christos carrying an arcade machine out of the same property, and Christos was jailed in January for four years.
- After his December arrest, when he spat in an officer’s face and claimed to have an infectious disease, Higgins pleaded guilty to five burglaries and related offences at Nottingham Crown Court and was jailed for three years.
