Police Records Show 7 Prior 911 Calls Before Falcons Rookie James Pearce Jr.’s Arrest

The disclosures arrive during a prosecutorial review of five felony counts.

Overview

  • Newly released Doral police records detail at least seven 911 calls from late November to early February reporting alleged stalking and harassment tied to a residence associated with James Pearce Jr.
  • Police told Pearce on Jan. 13 to leave the residence and not return, and Jan. 28 calls included a report of a damaged door and a separate daytime burglary-in-progress response.
  • On Feb. 7, police reports say Pearce followed WNBA player Rickea Jackson, tried to open her car door, rammed her vehicle from behind and head-on, fled officers, struck an officer, crashed, and was arrested.
  • Pearce faces five felony counts: two aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated stalking, fleeing and eluding, and aggravated battery of a law-enforcement officer, plus a misdemeanor resisting charge and multiple traffic citations.
  • His attorneys say he maintains his innocence; he is free on bond under a stay-away order as Miami-Dade prosecutors review the case and the NFL conducts a Personal Conduct Policy review.
