Investigators believe several recent cases may be related.

Overview

  • Police say the latest incident occurred around 8 p.m. Wednesday on Mohr Avenue, where a suspect displayed a handgun, forced a resident back inside, and struck a man and his wife before fleeing over fences.
  • Officers searched the area with drones and a police K-9 but did not locate the suspect, and the firearm was not discharged.
  • An earlier break-in on Feb. 27 on Hansen Drive left a teenage resident pepper-sprayed, and another theft in the same area that day was captured on home security video.
  • Security footage showed a man in a dark hoodie, jeans and white shoes, and the Mohr Avenue suspect was described as a light-skinned Black man about 5 feet 8 inches tall wearing dark clothing and a mask.
  • Pleasanton Police are reviewing video, urging residents to check cameras, activate alarms and lock doors and windows, and asking anyone with information to call 925-931-5100.
