Police Charge 58-Year-Old in St. Louis Starbucks Drive-Thru Killing Linked to Two Prior Robberies

He is being held without bail after prosecutors filed murder plus robbery charges.

Overview

  • Gabrielle “Sam” Linehan, 28, a local figure skating coach, was shot in her car after being ordered to raise her hands, and the assailant took her bank cards and driver’s license, police said.
  • Keith Lamon Brown was arrested less than 24 hours after the shooting and faces first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree robbery, multiple Armed Criminal Action counts, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
  • Investigators say surveillance video from all three incidents shows the same suspect wearing a high-visibility vest and helmet, and a search of Brown’s home recovered a similar vest and helmet along with victims’ property.
  • Police linked Brown to a Feb. 6 Jack in the Box drive-thru robbery where a woman and her daughter were held at gunpoint and had a purse, a 9mm handgun, and cellphones stolen.
  • Two days later, a Dollar General cashier was robbed at gunpoint, and police say the suspect fired rounds into the air after leaving the store.
