Overview
- Police from the División Trata de Personas executed a judicially ordered raid on the Beauchef al 500 property in Caballito and found 11 women and three men, with ten women identified as possible victims of sexual exploitation.
- The investigation began after an anonymous complaint on April 16 and led to the Saturday raid that rescued the ten women and resulted in the detention of a Paraguayan woman accused of administrating the operation.
- Investigators seized 32 cellphones, cash, written notes and a card payment device that officials say will be forensically analyzed to trace clients, payments and organizational links.
- The Agencia Gubernamental de Control ordered immediate closure of the premises and a police consigna was installed to secure the site while judicial authorities collect evidence.
- The case is now in the hands of Juzgado de Primera Instancia N°1 and Fiscalía Penal Contravencional y de Faltas N°26, and specialized victim teams and migration officials are handling interviews, identification and protective measures for the survivors.
