Police Arrest Two in Towson Town Center Armed Carjacking

The charges and no-bail detentions deepen concerns about safety at the mall.

Overview

  • Baltimore County police, which announced arrests Tuesday, charged 18-year-old Gregory Bishop and a 16-year-old boy in the April 25 carjacking outside Towson Town Center.
  • The 16-year-old was waived to adult court and both suspects are being held without bail at the county detention center.
  • Investigators say two people pointed a gun at a man around 3:30 p.m. and fled in his car near the Macy’s entrance on Dulaney Valley Road.
  • Police say the case remains open and they asked anyone with information to call the department at 410-887-4636.
  • Shoppers and residents point to recent incidents and store closures at the mall, while data show about one quarter of storefronts are vacant and a weekend curfew for those 17 and under is in place.
