Police Appeal for Help as Two USF Doctoral Students Remain Missing

A joint USFHillsborough investigation is underway with both entered in state and national missing-persons systems.

Overview

  • The two 27-year-old doctoral students, Zamil Limon and Nahida Bristy, have had no confirmed contact since Thursday, April 16.
  • Police say Limon was last seen at 9 a.m. at his Tampa home, and Bristy was last seen at 10 a.m. in the Natural and Environmental Sciences Building on USF's Tampa campus.
  • A mutual acquaintance reported both missing at about 4:50 p.m. on Friday, April 17, after being unable to reach them.
  • Detectives from USF Police and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office are conducting a coordinated search and ask anyone with information to call 813-974-2628.
  • University records identify Limon as a geography, environmental science and policy Ph.D. student, and Bristy as a chemical engineering Ph.D. student.
