Overview
- The collision happened around 7:10am on January 26 at the Cellarhead crossroads on Leek Road, involving a grey Ford Transit van and a grey Volkswagen Polo.
- A white Vauxhall Vivaro had broken down nearby before the crash and was also damaged, with its driver unhurt.
- Fire crews assisted a man from an overturned vehicle, and he and a woman from another vehicle were taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.
- Officers closed the road for several hours, managed traffic at the scene and are asking anyone with information or dashcam footage to call 101 quoting incident number 89 of January 26 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
- In a separate incident on January 27 at the Smallthorne roundabouts, a bin lorry and a car collided and the car’s driver sustained minor injuries and was discharged at the scene.
