Police Appeal After Distinctive Gold Jewellery Stolen From Sutton Home

Their sentimental and cultural value makes recovery urgent.

Overview

  • Detectives say multiple pieces of gold jewellery were taken from a house on Willis Avenue in Sutton between 5pm and 9pm on Thursday, April 23.
  • Stolen items include an orchid-shaped necklace, a Farohar pendant, gold bangles, two 22-carat gold necklaces, two 22-carat rings (one with a central ruby), a 22-carat band and a 22-carat 18-inch chain.
  • Investigating officers seized CCTV that shows a silver BMW leaving the area and detectives have released images of the stolen pieces to help with identification.
  • Detective Constable Lee Simpson is leading the inquiry and on May 29 the Metropolitan Police launched a public appeal asking anyone with information to call 101 or contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 quoting reference 01/7475684/26.
  • Police say the items carry high sentimental and cultural value for the household and they are urging local residents and gold traders to check purchases and report any leads because there have been no arrests or recoveries so far.
