Overview
- Rajasthan Police issued a statewide advisory citing fake LPG portals, phishing links, QR-code payment traps and remote-access apps like AnyDesk and TeamViewer used to seize devices and data.
- Kerala Police flagged a malicious file called “Gas Bill Update APK” sent via WhatsApp or SMS that, once installed, grants full control of a phone and exposes banking details and UPI PINs.
- Punjab Police reported calls from impostors posing as Indane, Bharat Gas or HP Gas representatives who threaten disconnection or subsidy suspension to extract KYC data, OTPs or payments.
