Poland Awards JFD Global Contract to Equip Ratownik for NATO Submarine Rescue

The 2029-due ship will host the NSRS to provide Poland with a rapid, alliance-standard rescue response.

Overview

  • JFD Global will integrate a classed hyperbaric chamber complex and deep saturation diving system aboard the Polish Navy’s new salvage and rescue vessel.
  • The contract includes In-Service Support to keep the NATO Submarine Rescue System maintained and ready for worldwide mobilization at short notice.
  • Ratownik is intended to protect critical underwater energy and data infrastructure in the Baltic Sea and to respond to disabled submarines in territorial and international waters.
  • The award builds on JFD’s 2019 pre-engineering study and is being delivered with PGZ Stocznia Wojenna as the prime shipbuilder.
  • Program milestones target steel cutting in December 2025, keel laying in February 2026, launch in 2027, and delivery in 2029, when the ship will replace ORP Piast and ORP Lech.
