Pokémon Pokopia Adds Dive, Shared Storage and Bubbly Basin Expansion

Players receive a placeable shared storage box that ends region-locked inventories, simplifying how items move between towns.

Overview

  • The free v2.0.0 update and the paid Bubbly Basin expansion both launch on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, with the update available to all players and Bubbly Basin gated behind the Expansion Pass.
  • The update introduces a craftable shared storage unit that reportedly holds about 140 item slots and can be placed in multiple towns to let players access the same stored items from any placed box.
  • v2.0.0 also grants the Dive ability so players can go underwater and use many existing abilities there, and it adds visual orientation aids intended to reduce motion sickness during underwater play.
  • Bubbly Basin, sold as Part 1 of a three-part Expansion Pass for $34.99, brings a new underwater region, a new Pokédex with creatures like Golisopod and Stunfisk, a blender item and a Surf upgrade that speeds Surf and lets it break underwater blocks.
  • The combined free update and paid DLC aim to fix core progression and inventory friction while expanding exploration, and Nintendo has mapped Parts 2 for late 2026 and Part 3 for 2027 as the next additions to the Expansion Pass.
