Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen Hit Switch and Switch 2 on Feb. 27 After Pokémon Presents

Priced individually on the eShop, the rereleases bypass Switch Online in favor of digital ownership with local wireless play only at launch.

Overview

  • Preorders are live now, with downloads unlocking immediately after the Feb. 27 Pokémon Presents broadcast (9 a.m. ET/6 a.m. PT).
  • Both games are digital-only standalone purchases, not included in the Nintendo Switch Online Game Boy Advance catalog and not requiring an NSO subscription.
  • Each version costs $19.99/£16.99, with regional pricing confirmed on the eShop.
  • The ports preserve the original Game Boy Advance content, including the Sevii Islands, and each language version is sold as a separate build.
  • Multiplayer supports local wireless trading and battling at launch, and Pokémon HOME connectivity is planned for a later update; Japan will also receive a premium collector set with a download code.
