Overview
- The 79th Tony Awards will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, June 7, with a Pluto TV pre-show hosted by Laura Benanti and Tituss Burgess.
- Producers have confirmed that every nominated musical and revival will get a live performance slot, with contenders such as The Lost Boys, Schmigadoon!, Ragtime, Titaníque, Cats: The Jellicle Ball, Two Strangers and The Rocky Horror Show included.
- Rachel Zegler will perform a 50th-anniversary tribute to A Chorus Line and Leslie Odom Jr. will sing “Without You” from Rent during the In Memoriam segment, marking those shows’ milestone anniversaries.
- High-profile anniversary showcases will also feature the original cast of The Book of Mormon for its 15th anniversary and a 30th-anniversary Chicago performance led by Queen Latifah and P!NK.
- The opening number will pair P!NK with more than 170 Broadway performers, choreographed by Sarah O'Gleby and written by Benj Pasek, Justin Paul, and Mark Sonnenblick, in a program produced by Raj Kapoor, Sarah Levine Hall, and Jack Sussman.
