Overview
- The Pakistan Meteorological Department says Karachi will be humid and partly cloudy over the next 24 hours with light drizzle possible at isolated locations during the morning and night.
- Official observations list Karachi’s daytime high at 34–36°C, a low of 29°C, humidity around 78 percent, and sea breezes near 15 km/h.
- The PMD forecasts very hot conditions in Peshawar of about 41°C and rain for many upper districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while plains there stay hot.
- May data show Sindh received just 0.3 mm of rain, about 91 percent below the 1991–2020 normal, and its mean temperature was 1.0°C above normal, informing current concerns about heat.
- For June the department expects above-normal mean temperatures across much of the country and near-normal to slightly below-normal rainfall overall, but warns isolated heavy monsoon downpours could still cause localised flooding in poorly drained or low-lying urban areas.
