Overview
- The Railway Board has published the official timetable and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually flag off the Sant Ravidas Express on July 17.
- The service is named Sant Ravidas Express and is being billed as India’s second Sleeper Vande Bharat, operating as train numbers 14624/14623.
- The train will run three days a week in each direction with departures from Chheharta at 2:05 PM on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays and from Varanasi at 7:05 PM on Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays.
- The Sant Ravidas Express will stop at major stations including Jaunpur City, Sultanpur, Lucknow, Shahjahanpur, Bareilly, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, Ludhiana, Jalandhar City and Amritsar, and its primary maintenance base is designated at Chheharta.
- Railway officials say the service is intended to strengthen links between eastern Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, support religious tourism and business travel, and signal a gradual roll‑out of Sleeper Vande Bharat overnight routes.
