Plato Racing Enters Administration and Is Marketed for Rapid Sale

Joint administrators have launched a fast 'Project Speed' sale of the team's assets and intellectual property, creating immediate uncertainty over its racing programme.

Overview

  • Administrators were appointed to Plato Racing after an application in early August and a public notice published on Monday, and they have instructed Pantera Valuations to run a marketed sale called 'Project Speed' with an August 25 registration deadline.
  • Sale documents show the recently formed team has accumulated losses of £835,097 since it began competing in the 2026 BTCC season.
  • The listing offers the squad's operational infrastructure, commercial relationships and intellectual property for purchase by order of the joint administrators.
  • Plato Racing had just recorded its first BTCC championship race win at Knockhill for Adam Morgan and several podiums for Morgan and Dan Rowbottom while campaigning two self-developed Mercedes‑AMG A35 Saloons.
  • The team remains scheduled to race at Donington Park on August 22–23 but its short-term on-track activity, staff jobs and sponsor deals all depend on the outcome of the rapid sale process.
