Planet Zoo 2 Revealed With October 13 Release and Cross-Platform Launch

Frontier frames the sequel as a bigger, conservation-focused simulation with fuller feature reveals planned for early June.

Overview

  • Frontier officially revealed Planet Zoo 2 on Thursday and set a simultaneous release for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on October 13, 2026.
  • The game adds two new habitat types—customizable aquariums for aquatic species and aviaries for flying species—shown in the trailer with examples such as reef sharks, hawksbill turtles, toco toucans, and secretary birds.
  • A new Wildlife Reserves mode will let players restore natural habitats and release animals outside their zoos as part of an explicit conservation focus.
  • Pre-orders are available now and include a Bonus Content Pack at launch, while a Deluxe Edition adds six extra animal species and exclusive park items.
  • The reveal highlights graphical and behavior upgrades plus new staff mechanics like airlocks and scuba gear, and Frontier has promised more detailed feature and content updates at the Wholesome Games and PC Gaming Show showcases on June 6–7.
