Pittsburgh Schools Lease Four North Side Lots for NFL Draft Parking

Proceeds go to the district’s general fund to support teaching and daily operations.

Overview

  • Pittsburgh Public Schools, which confirmed Thursday it is leasing four school lots for the NFL Draft, is also weighing two more sites.
  • The current locations are Allegheny Traditional Academy, King, Conroy, and Manchester on the North Side.
  • ParkWiz lists a three-day pass at Allegheny for $169, and a CBS search found single-day rates as high as about $454 at other nearby school lots.
  • The district set remote learning for the draft week because of road closures and safety concerns, which frees the lots for paid parking.
  • The NFL Draft runs April 23–25, and the district says all parking revenue it receives will support its general fund.
