- Forestry officials said crews stopped the Pioneer Fire’s forward progress after it grew to about 25 acres in the Tonto National Forest roughly four miles south of Jake’s Corner.
- The blaze was first reported at a smaller size and increased from an initial estimate of about 15 acres before firefighters halted its spread.
