Overview
- Investigators say a southbound Dodge Ram crossed the center line around 1:15 p.m. on County Highway I north of Cedar Creek Road and struck a Riteway school bus head-on.
- The 57-year-old West Bend man driving the pickup was pinned inside, was extricated, and died at the scene despite lifesaving efforts.
- The bus driver, identified as 71-year-old Deda Odekirk-Schuh of Saukville, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a hospital.
- Officials confirmed that no students were on the bus at the time of the collision.
- Both lanes of County Highway I between Pleasant Valley Road and Cedar Creek Road were closed for several hours for crash reconstruction.
