Photo Released of Person of Interest in Downtown Houston Parking-Garage Homicide

Police have asked the public to help identify the person pictured so detectives can move the active homicide probe forward.

  • A man was found with an apparent stab wound in the backseat of a vehicle inside the 2000 Crawford Street parking garage and was pronounced dead by Houston Fire Department personnel, in what investigators say occurred on Sunday, May 17.
  • The victim has been identified by police as 53-year-old Henry Lee.
  • Houston Police Department detectives released a photo and said the person of interest was last seen walking northbound on Crawford Street wearing a dark hooded jacket and khaki pants, and that the photographed individual has not been charged.
  • HPD’s Homicide Division is leading the investigation and urges anyone with information to call the division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS to provide tips.
  • The release comes after a separate nonfatal garage stabbing in the city on May 11 that prompted calls for more patrols, better signage, and improved agency coordination around parking facilities.
