Philly Pride Moves Festival to Benjamin Franklin Parkway as City Readies Street Closures and Transit Detours

Organizers relocated the ticketed festival to the Parkway to cover higher production and safety costs, accommodating much larger crowds.

Overview

  • The centerpiece march and festival are set for Sunday, June 7, with marchers assembling at Spruce Street between Juniper and 12th and 13th Street between Locust and Pine starting at 9 a.m. and the procession beginning at 11 a.m.
  • The march will follow a northbound route from 13th and Locust through Market, Juniper, JFK and 16th before reaching the Benjamin Franklin Parkway and ending at 21st Street around noon.
  • City agencies have ordered temporary no-parking zones and wide street closures from roughly 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. on key corridors including the Parkway between 20th Street and Eakins Oval, the Spring Garden Tunnel and inbound Spring Garden Bridge, with tows for vehicles left in posted areas.
  • SEPTA will detour bus routes 7, 32, 38, 43, 48 and 49 from about 4:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday and will post route changes on its System Status page for riders.
  • The ticketed Parkway festival (general admission $10) runs noon–7 p.m. and will include four stages, more than 200 vendors, Youth and low‑sensory zones, commemorative floats, and expanded public-safety, traffic control and EMS support to manage an expected large crowd.
