Phillies' Adolis García to Undergo Season-Ending Right Lat Repair

The procedure is expected to require six to eight months of recovery and make García a likely target to be cleared by spring training 2027.

Overview

  • The Phillies announced Thursday that García will have right latissimus dorsi repair surgery on Wednesday, June 24, performed by Dr. Anthony Romeo and declared the procedure season-ending.

  • García left a June 10 game in Toronto after making throws to home and was placed on the 60-day injured list with a torn right lat prior to the surgical decision.
