Philadelphia Publishes Rolling Street Closures for Officer Andy Chan’s Funeral and Viewings

The schedule follows the death of the Highway Patrol veteran, who required round-the-clock care after a 2019 motorcycle crash.

  • Roads in Callowhill and Chinatown close from 4 p.m. Monday for the first viewing, including Ridge Avenue, westbound Vine Street between 8th and 10th, and segments of 9th, 10th, Callowhill, and Wood streets.
  • Three closure waves begin early Tuesday for the second viewing, funeral, and procession, starting at 5 a.m. on 18th Street, at 5:30 a.m. on 15th, Broad, Callowhill, and 17th, and at 6 a.m. on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, Vine, Race, 17th, and 19th.
  • Parking is suspended on posted blocks during the listed hours, with vehicles subject to towing or relocation under Temporary No Parking rules.
  • Tuesday’s services will be held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, with interment to follow at West Laurel Hill Cemetery in Bala Cynwyd.
  • SEPTA bus routes will detour during the events, with specific routing details still pending from the transit agency.
