Pharrell, Voices of Fire to Open World Series Game 1 in Toronto

MLB leans into pop-culture programming to expand the World Series’ audience.

Overview

  • Pharrell Williams and the 75-member Voices of Fire will perform “ARE YOU READY?” and “THE ONE” from OPHANIM, then lead both national anthems with a local Toronto ensemble joining for O Canada.
  • Game 1 between the Blue Jays and Dodgers is set for Oct. 24 at Rogers Centre, with live coverage beginning at 7 p.m. ET on FOX, FOX Deportes and ESPN Radio and international broadcasts in more than 200 countries and 16 languages.
  • The pregame production is being executed with Jesse Collins Entertainment, with Pharrell collaborating as an executive producer as MLB caps its October Hits Different postseason campaign.
  • For Game 2 on Oct. 25, the Jonas Brothers are slated to perform “I Can’t Lose” during MLB’s Stand Up To Cancer in-game moment.
  • Game 2 anthem plans feature Alessia Cara for O Canada and Bebe Rexha for The Star-Spangled Banner, part of MLB’s expanded slate that also includes red-carpet and celebrity activations.
