PF Tells Supreme Court It Will Probe Mentions of Lulinha in INSS Case

Investigators say there is no indication he took part in the INSS frauds.

Overview

  • In a filing to Justice André Mendonça, the Federal Police said it will verify references to Fábio Luís Lula da Silva as a possible hidden partner of Antônio Camilo, known as the Careca do INSS.
  • The PF cites three evidence streams to be checked: testimony from ex-associate Edson Claro, WhatsApp messages including an order to pay R$300,000 for the “filho do rapaz,” and airline bookings linking Lulinha and Roberta Luchsinger.
  • Documents in the case report five R$300,000 transfers (R$1.5 million) from Camilo to Luchsinger’s firm and note broader receipts of about R$18.27 million that investigators are tracing for possible indirect links.
  • The PF stressed a technical approach and flagged concern over political polarization, while the congressional CPMI relator Alfredo Gaspar moved to prioritize a new summons of Lulinha when the commission reconvenes in February.
  • Lulinha’s defense denies any illicit connection and calls the mentions unfounded, and attorney Marco Aurélio de Carvalho asked the PF director to investigate what he described as selective leaks of confidential material; Luchsinger’s defense says talks never led to public contracts.
