Peugeot Launches E-208 GTi as Its First Production Electric GTi

Peugeot Sport redesigned battery cooling plus chassis hardware so the car can sustain full power under hard driving, with UK prices from £34,995.

Overview

  • Peugeot has revealed the production E-208 GTi, its first fully electric GTi, with the model shown at Le Mans and confirmed for showrooms later this year.
  • The single front-mounted motor makes about 277–278 bhp and 345 Nm, with a 0–62 mph time near 5.5–5.7 seconds and a top speed limited to 112 mph.
  • The car uses a 54 kWh battery that supports up to 100 kW DC charging for a 20–80% top-up in roughly 30 minutes and has WLTP range of about 217–233 miles depending on tyre choice.
  • Peugeot Sport led changes to battery cooling and management plus bespoke chassis hardware such as a mechanical limited-slip differential, lowered ride height, wider track and large 355 mm front brakes to keep performance steady during hard use.
  • The E-208 GTi starts at £34,995 in the UK and comes with extended vehicle and battery warranty plus Free2Move charging access, positioning Peugeot against other small electric hot hatches and aiming to preserve the GTi driving character in an EV era.
