Peterborough Sign Ethan Williams From Manchester United

Peterborough confirmed on Thursday that they have signed Ethan Williams from Manchester United on a long-term contract for a sizeable undisclosed fee.
Williams is a 20-year-old graduate of United’s academy who never made a competitive senior start for the club but featured on their 2026 pre-season tour and scored in a friendly against Rosenborg.
He arrives after loan spells at League Two Cheltenham Town and Scottish Premiership side Falkirk, where he made roughly 22–24 appearances last season and gained senior experience.
Manager Luke Williams has been quoted saying Williams is a quick, direct wide option and the club have handed him the No.10 shirt and expect him to be available for an early League One debut.
Peterborough said they beat interest from other clubs to sign him, continuing the club’s pattern of buying young academy players from elite teams to give them clear pathways into first-team football.
