Peter Frampton Announces 'Carry the Light,' First All-New Album in 16 Years, Out May 15

The Rock Hall inductee returns to original songwriting through a father–son studio partnership with a cast of notable guests.

Overview

  • Frampton co-wrote and co-produced the 10-track set with his son Julian, marking their first full-length collaboration.
  • Lead single "Buried Treasure" is out now, a Tom Petty homage built from his song titles and featuring Heartbreakers keyboardist Benmont Tench.
  • Guests across the album include Sheryl Crow, Tom Morello, H.E.R., Graham Nash and saxophonist Bill Evans.
  • UMe opened pre-orders in digital, CD, stereo/hi-res/Atmos and 180-gram yellow vinyl editions, plus a numbered limited vinyl with premium packaging.
  • Engineer and co-producer Chuck Ainlay lauded the material and vocals, calling it possibly Frampton’s best, as the guitarist continues creating after an inclusion-body myositis diagnosis.
