Overview

- A firefighter wearing a wading suit tried to reach the bird, which managed to break free and evade capture.
- Owner Willene Wezelman discovered the scene on her way home from school and used bread to lure Roelie ashore.
- The duck was taken home, warmed up, regained strength, and later rejoined the other young ducks Sjonnie and Duvie.
- Willene shares care of the ducks with neighbor Rosanne de Boer, and the pair have looked after the trio since last summer.
