Overview
- The Interior Ministry approved the “Lista de Nuevas Sustancias Psicoactivas (NSP)” by Resolución Ministerial N° 0804-2026-IN signed by Minister José Zapata on Wednesday, June 17, 2026.
- The ministry says the list is a legal and operational tool that will let authorities identify, investigate and seek criminal charges for offenses tied to emerging psychoactive compounds.
- The measure was proposed by the Dirección General Contra el Crimen Organizado and developed with technical endorsement from Dirandro specialists in the Policía Nacional del Perú.
- Officials prepared the list using international guidance from the UNODC SMART program and framed it under Decreto Legislativo N°1241 as updated by Decreto Legislativo N°1592 to modernize drug oversight.
- The annex with the full substance list will be published on the Plataforma Digital Única del Estado Peruano and on ministry and police portals, a step expected to speed enforcement actions and improve interagency coordination.
