Overview
- Produce issued Resolución Ministerial N.° 0162-2026-PRODUCE on Thursday, June 11, 2026, temporarily halting anchoveta and anchoveta blanca extraction in the maritime area from Peru’s northern limit to 16° south during the First Fishing Season 2026.
- IMARPE technical reports found persistent warm ocean conditions and a wide distribution of juvenile fish that raise the risk of impairing natural biomass renewal, prompting the ministry to adopt a precautionary closure.
