Overview
- Anthony Morales Salinas, 26, was detained after leaving a nightclub in Lima Este following surveillance and a brief pursuit by Depincri Santa Anita–Ate.
- Police identify him as the alleged intellectual author of the Feb. 22, 2025 ambush that killed sub-officers Brayan Pérez and Edwin Huacausi during a patrol in Huaycán.
- Four alleged associates were also detained: Benjamín Molina, Pool Machacuay, Geral Rodríguez and Esmeralda Suazo.
- Officers seized a semi-automatic pistol, two dynamite cartridges, ammunition and drugs during the operation.
- Authorities say Morales stepped into a leadership role in Los Remanentes de los Malditos de Huaycán, also known as Los Temibles NG, and the case has been turned over to the public prosecutor as the retaliation hypothesis remains under investigation.
