Peru Launches 2026 PIAS Missions to Deliver State Services to Remote Amazon and Highlands
The rollout mobilizes Navy vessels plus military aviation under MIDIS to bring integrated public services to isolated communities.
Overview
- Minister Lily Vásquez Dávila formally opened the 2026 campaigns in Iquitos as a Twin Otter aircraft and PIAS vessels Morona, Putumayo I, Yavari, Ucayali II and Lago Titicaca I departed on initial routes.
- The Programa Nacional PAIS will execute 26 fluvial, aerial and lacustrine campaigns reaching 280 attention points, targeting more than 800,000 attentions for roughly 77,000 people.
- In Loreto, three aerial campaigns plan over 40,000 attentions for 10,000 residents across 14 communities, while 16 riverine campaigns will visit 197 points to deliver more than 600,000 attentions to over 49,000 people.
- The President of the Superior Court of Justice of Loreto joined the fluvial launch, and Administrative Resolution No. 000198-2026-CSJLO-PJ assigned magistrate Hunter Ruiz Núñez to a 40-day Putumayo route to provide on-site judicial services.
- More than 60 PIAS crew members received an Ethics in Public Service training led by Llarec Bernales Hernández, as agencies and the Armed Forces coordinate to deliver health care, identity documents, subsidy payments and SIS enrollment.
