Peru Extends Coastal Wave Alert Through June 16 as Two Fishermen Found Dead and Two Remain Missing

The Navy says a weakened South Pacific anticyclone with stronger polar lows is driving higher winds and sea levels that will keep seas dangerous along the coast.

El COER reportó que en el sector Buenos Aires del distrito de Víctor Larco, 10 viviendas y 100 metros de vías quedaron inundadas tras registrarse olas de más de tres metros. En este lugar hay 300 familias en riesgo por oleajes anómalos. En Pacasmayo, en tanto, uno de los muros del emblemático malecón Grau quedó destruido.
Tras su visita, el municipio costero indicó que se “tomarán acciones inmediatas” y se invocó a la población a “reforzar sus hogares ante una nueva eventualidad”.
