Peru Authorizes S/24.9 Million Transfer to 17 Municipalities for Disaster Projects

The decree locks funding to 20 FONDES‑approved disaster projects under a five‑day budget setup.

Overview

  • The government published Supreme Decree No. 080-2026-EF on Friday, directing S/24,929,720 to 17 local governments to continue 20 disaster interventions prioritized by the FONDES commission.
  • The money comes from INDECI’s institutional allocation in the 2026 Public Sector Budget as ordinary resources.
  • The package, drawn from the FONDES priority list under Acta No. 52, covers one mitigation activity, one public investment project, and 18 emergency IOARR to cut risk and repair infrastructure.
  • Funds will move through budget modifications between INDECI and the municipalities, with budget disaggregation due within five calendar days of the rule taking effect.
  • The decree restricts use of the transfer to the authorized activities and assigns responsibility to officials if the money is diverted.
