Personal Begins Migrating 5G Core Traffic to New Nokia Platforms in Buenos Aires

A multivendor, open core sets up greater flexibility with planned expansion to additional Argentine cities.

Overview

  • Personal has completed integration and functional validation of the first Nokia-powered 5G core nodes in the AMBA area, starting in Capital Federal.
  • Live mobile traffic is now being migrated to the new platforms in phases to safeguard continuity and service quality.
  • The rollout is scheduled to reach Mar del Plata, Tucumán, Rosario and Córdoba in the coming months, with further localities to follow.
  • The modernization adopts an open, disaggregated architecture to enable automation and high-availability services for consumers, enterprises and IoT.
  • The new core will coexist with existing Huawei infrastructure and aligns with company-reported scale, including about 3 million 5G users, 26% of traffic on 5G and US$7 billion invested over eight years.
