Person of Interest in Custody After Kentucky Bank Robbery That Killed Two Employees

Federal prosecutors have filed armed bank robbery charges following a multi-agency search.

  • Investigators said the suspect fled in a silver BMW with Alabama plates and, after a high-speed pursuit into Fayette County, crashed near Johnston Road before a ground search in Lexington.
  • State police identified the victims as Breanna Edwards, 35, of Madison County, and Brian Switzer, 42, of Jessamine County, as nearby schools and Berea College briefly locked down during the search.
  • Authorities released a surveillance image and description of a masked man about 6-foot-3 in a light-colored hoodie, and agencies including the FBI and ATF used helicopters, drones, and K-9 units as U.S. Bank pledged support for the victims’ families.
