Person of Interest Held After Duncanville Townhome Shooting and High-Speed Chase

Detention on an evading charge lets investigators gather evidence, pursue further charges, request tips from the public.

Overview

  • Officers who responded early Tuesday to the Wexford Townhomes found a man and a woman with multiple gunshot wounds; the woman later died and the man is expected to survive.
  • Officers in the area saw a white Dodge Challenger speed away from the scene and pursued it into Dallas, ending the chase on the 6300 block of Interstate 20.
  • Police took the driver, identified as Emajin Trevon Jackson, into custody and booked him at the Tri-City Regional Jail in DeSoto on a charge of evading arrest or detention with a motor vehicle.
  • Duncanville investigators described Jackson as a person of interest and said they are still reconstructing a reported disturbance before the gunfire and may add more charges as interviews and evidence develop.
  • Neither victim has been publicly identified and police are urging anyone with information to call the Duncanville Police Criminal Investigations Division at 972-780-5037.
