Overview
- Emergency crews responded to reports of a house fire on Chisamore Ranch Lane north of Vacaville after callers said flames had spread to nearby vegetation and an exterior garage.
- Once crews could safely enter the home they discovered an occupant who was dead inside the structure.
- The vegetation fire prompted temporary evacuation orders for nearby residents that were lifted after firefighters contained the blaze to about a half-acre.
- Multiple neighboring agencies joined the response, including Vacaville, Dixon and Suisun City fire departments, Cal Fire, and the Solano County Sheriff’s Office, and crews spent hours extinguishing hot spots.
- Authorities have not released the deceased person’s identity or a cause of the fire and investigators remain on scene as workers complete mop-up and scene work.
